Came away with food poisoning both myself and my partner. This being the only meal we shared that day, the starter platter. Still in a bad way 3 days later, both of us.

Went with my partner and little girl to the Hereford branch. The staff were amazing and really made us feel welcome. They were so nice to my daughter. The food was brilliant too. Would recommend. I have seen a few people moan about the service charge but ours was optional so you don’t ever have to pay it if you don’t want to. We did as we thought the service was fantastic!!

Ate here recently before a concert (Liverpool branch) Love going to Wildwoods and my daughters love eating here too. However, this time around it wasn't up to scratch. Took ages for someone to come over and take our order. For some reason, we were only halfway through our starter when our mains arrived. I noticed that this happened to another table too, which I just don't understand.

The food is nice and I have never had a problem with it.

They add 10% service charge to the bill though, which I just don't agree with. If I want to leave a tip, it should be up to me to decide how much of a tip I would like to leave. On top of that, eating out for some people who are on a budget, is a treat without having to accommodate an additional 10%.

When I was handed the machine it didn't ask me to confirm how much I'd like to pay and the waitress didn't ask if I was happy to pay the service charge. I asked for it to be removed and to be honest, the waitress looked less than pleased.

I will not pay the service charge added to bills regardless of whether the service and the food was excellent because that should be my choice. I would have paid it if the machine asked me to confirm whether I'd like to add on an additional 10% (or choose another amount) or if the waitress had asked discreetly whether I would like it removed. As it was, I had to ask twice for it to be removed and there was someone behind me. Embarrassment won't stop me from requesting that it's removed though because it is a matter of principle.

It's going to get to the point where I refuse to eat at places where they add an "optional" 10% to your bill.

I'd also like to point out that there was nothing printed anywhere which said whether 100% of your tip goes to your server or whether it's shared out.

Hereford Branch:

The staff is so lovely, but the food is not good.
I order a vegan burger almost every Saturday to my office, and it's a complete hit and miss.
Sometimes there's missing items like lettuce, missing tomatoes, missing onion, sometimes no sauce, sometimes its burnt and once it was raw, once it was only half a burger in the bun.. but last week there was a hair in my burger, so that literally is the last time I will order.
Shame this, as there's limited options for vegans, but the hair has just put me off for good sadly. No more vegan burger and side of mushroom for my Saturday treat..

We recently went to the Hereford restaurant and could not fault the service we received! We asked for somewhere quiet on a Saturday night and they went out of their way to accommodate...brilliant meal had by all in the party and excellent service throughout! Well done WildWood!

Burnt lasagne, waitress told my partner to try it, if it’s too dry then will get you a new one! Also Calzone was Luke warm inside. Would definitely not recommend.

Minestrone thin and tasteless, bruschetta with cold tomatoes followed by burgers you could have soled your shoes with. Coffee luke warm. Never again.

What can I say, just that we were so upset with the service that the 10% service charge that was forced on us was an insult. Here is a list of issues from last nights meal that made us upset.

1. We booked and arrived on time, but had to wait for our table. If you had a booking you should have the table ready before we arrive.

2. We told our waitress that we had a person on the table with a nut allergy. This was so their food can be preped in a safer place. We then had a rather long awkward explanation of why there is a small chance there could be a contamination. Its an industrial kitchen nothing is 100%, why they felt the need to over explain this we do not know. (We were served by another waitress) Then the waitress said that we can leave if we would like which put us in an awkward position, we have eaten at this restaurant for years with no issue but last night might be our last.

3. After explaining the nut allergy we would have thought the waiting staff would be more vigilant, as the nut allergy customer asked for garlic bread with cheese without the onions. When it came out there were onions on the food??? Which makes us question if this is being prepared separately.

4. Maybe this is a rockie error or I am being pedantic but when I ordered your baked brie I was surprised that the now different waitress said camanbert, it made me question if my order was right or not.

5. Menu type was so small. This is the designer in me but the menus were difficult to read on small A4 prints. I think it would be best to have them professionally printed and encapsulated to allow for wiping but thats just me.

And after I received the bill I was startled by the 10% service charge. If I want to leave a tip I would have at 10% not to have it forced on you. And one last thing before I sign of my Ted talk. Why do you make your staff ask for a good review, our waitress sounded more like a sales person than a waiter and was not well received.

In all a very disappointing trip for my birthday no less. I will not be going back.

Port Solent Branch
Wild wood is just so disappointing. They spent all the budget on decor. The food is so mediocre, I’d rather not go again. I went with friends. I had a burger with a burnt brioche. What type of chef or waiter looks at a black burnt bun thinks yup that’s how we like to serve it. Burger itself wasn’t even that good to compensate, Fries were ok.
C’mon Wild wood sort your people and recipes out !

I went to the Epping branch with my family on Saturday evening for an impromptu meal for my daughters birthday . The service was excellent , our Liverpudlian server ( sorry I forgot his name ) was brilliant & lovely. Daughter enjoyed her cocktails , food was tasty & good value . Restaurant well presented & clean if a little chilly in the back area due to a heating issue but we warned up on our food . Highlight was Andrea the pizza chef giving my 4 yr old grandson dough to make his own pizza & choose the toppings which he loved doing . Andrea was so busy but offered to let him join in which was such a kind gesture . Thank you for a lovely experience & for employing lovely staff . We will be returning soon .

This is Telfords WildWood restaurant. Came here for my 25th birthday and i’m so happy we came. Got a free birthday drink of my choice which was lovely and the waitresses/waiters were all very friendly! My gluten free Carbonara was the nicest gluten free dish i’ve ever had and I didn’t want it to end. We all really enjoyed our food actually! And the kids menu is so good and the portion are great for how little they’re worth. I would definitely recommend anybody to come here.

Never been to a Wildwoods restaurant before and after finding this one, I thought we would give it a try.
Very nicely decorated and very welcoming but does get very draughty when people come in and go out, you get a full cold blast from outside and from the smokers smoke which is not nice.

Food is expensive! but we knew this before going in and that was not a problem because the food was excellent!
Staff could do with being a bit more friendly but they did their job well as they should.
My only gripe with Wildwoods here, is when the bill arrives, they had added 10% service charge which was around £7.00. I strongly object to this because it causes embarrassment when we ask to remove it. My wife and I only get a very small income and this is too much considering the food is expensive anyway.

Yes! I'd definitely go again, not so sure about Peterborough where the reviews look pretty bad, and that is our home town :-/

Liverpool branch, absolutely shocking from the service to the food.
Over an hour wait for food for it to arrive cold. Food so salty you couldnt eat it which the manager tasted it and agreed. Food sent to us completely wrong, staff not very approachable, neither friendly when you spoke to them, in the end they removed the food charges from our bill so we paid for drinks only because it were such a shambles and ruined a birthday meal.

Just to thank the duty manager/service team at the Port Solent restaurant, for accommodating our party of 6, on the 26th August, evening, when other restaurants at the marina couldn’t, even though we had no booking and they were very short staffed and rushed off their feet. Great service and food too.

Sadly another Deliveroo failure? This is from the chelmsford branch of Wildwoods,The food was awful I ordered the cheeseburger with bacon at (£1.50) which turned up with no bacon and the bottom of the bun was as hard as nails? My wife ordered the chicken and mushroom penne and as she opened the box the smell of the cheese made us both feel sick as it actually smelt off! Now she usually has had this before and been nice but on this occasion it was uneatable!! I will never use this restaurant ever again as it was that bad tonight shows that this food was precooked and shoved in a microwave to ding in 4 mins to be here within 28 mins of placing the order to street door! Considering it’s in town and we are about 4-5 miles away
